How to share a YouTube video with a child's YouTube Kids profile
Send a video or channel from a linked parent account to YouTube Kids, then check what the child can open from their profile.

Use the normal YouTube mobile app while signed into the parent account linked to the child's YouTube Kids profile. Open a video's Share menu, choose With kids, select Share beside the intended child and finish. The item appears in the child's shared content. A copied URL sent through a message is a different action and does not itself grant access inside YouTube Kids.
Check the parent account first
The sharing control depends on the account relationship. If With kids is missing, check that the current YouTube account is linked to the child's profile or supervised account. Google also requires the parent's age to be verified as over 18 for this sharing setup.
This feature is documented for the YouTube mobile app. Do not spend time hunting for the same button in a desktop browser if the parent-sharing route is what you need.
Share one item and verify it
Open the video you have reviewed. Choose Share beneath the player, or the relevant menu beside the item, and select With kids. Use Share next to the child who should receive it. Repeat only for other intended children, then finish.
Open the child's YouTube Kids profile and check Shared or the shared-content area. Play the start of the item to confirm access.
Sharing a channel is a broader decision than sharing one video. If a creator has material for several age groups, consider selecting individual items rather than granting the whole channel.
Why some videos cannot be shared
YouTube excludes several categories from this feature, including Shorts, active live streams, purchased material, age-restricted videos and videos with branded content. Previously blocked content is also unavailable for sharing to that child.
A live stream may become eligible after it ends, but eligibility still depends on the other conditions. If the button is missing for one video and present for another, do not assume the app is malfunctioning.
Sharing can make eligible videos available that would not normally appear in the child's YouTube Kids catalog. That makes parent review particularly important.
Remove something later
Return to the item in the parent's mobile YouTube app, open With kids and choose Unshare beside the relevant child. YouTube Kids also has options to remove items from shared content.
Unsharing removes that shared route. In a broader browsing configuration, do not assume it is equivalent to blocking the video everywhere. If your rule is that the child must not watch the item, use the appropriate block or remove every approval that grants it.
Build a small usable library
A useful first shared set might include one familiar episode, one activity and one short factual video. Give the child a selection that has a clear purpose rather than sending everything you might someday want.
The playlist guide explains how to choose an order and stopping point. Approved Content Only explains how to restrict the wider library.
If the share feature still behaves unexpectedly after checking the account and video eligibility, use the approval troubleshooting guide. Keep the child's real age and existing supervision intact while diagnosing the problem.
